Help with my mods or sims 4 in general–>Discord
At first I didn’t even notice this was a thing in the game. Never played more than one generation. Well I’m now on my 3rd generation of the family tree and let me tell you! All my sims in the household do nothing but think about past family memebers and family members who have moved out! At first I thought “Aww, how sweet!” Then I thought “GRRR! is this all they are going to do?” So thats when I decided it needed to hit the street and leave. So to speak lol
What does this mod do? This will stop your sim from autonomously thinking about family members.
Why did you make this mod? Because my sims were constantly thinking about family members while they ate, read a book, wrote a book, pretty much everything they did. And it made them take longer than normal!
I believe this came with Parenthood. If you do not have Parenthood then you will not have this in your game. If you do not have Parenthood this will NOT add it to your game.
Any mod that modifies the same XML will conflict: S4_E882D22F_00000012_0000000000027B49

The fact that The Sims - particularly Sims 4 - is one game that still allows cheat codes to be used freely is a delight to fans of the simulation game.
We’ve searched the internet in hopes of bringing to you the most comprehensive list of Sims 4 cheats available. Cheats include everything from how to get more money, remove death, improve or change relationships, careers, aspirations and plenty of other options. How To Use Sims 4 Cheats
In order to use Sims 4 cheats, you’ll need to navigate to the cheats console. This is done by hitting Ctrl+Shift+C on a Windows PC or Cmd+Shift+C on a Mac.
Once the cheat console is open, you need to enable cheats by typing and entering this code: testingcheats true
And then enter this code: AutomationTestingCheats true
Once you’ve entered those codes, using cheats is now possible. Simply type in the cheat code of your choice into the console and hit Enter. Codes must be entered one at a time for them to work.
When you see a Sims 4 cheat code on our list with brackets in it, you don’t need to type these. We’ve just placed them in the code to show you where there is specific information you need to enter.
For example: death.toggle [true/false]
If you want to turn death off, you would enter this into the Sims 4 cheats console: death.toggle false

Death by Exhaustion Add this buff and your sim might die immediately. If not, try working out. This doesn't always work as the workout options will gray out.

Oh, The Sims 4. You had such promise. Things could have gone so well. And you kinda screwed the pooch on that one. As of late, The Sims 4 has been rolling out a variety of different free updates ever since it launched to extremely dismal reviews. To win back the hearts of long-time Sims fans, EA has been focusing on restoring content that players felt was stripping from The Sims 4, including pools, specific careers, ghosts, and more. Many of the first impression have already been made, however, and although the majority of this content has been free – except for the Outdoor Retreat, which is a pay-to-play DLC game pack which ads wooded vacation destinations – EA seems to still have an uphill battle to keep the life in this series.
Now Maxis has finally introduced family trees back into the franchise with their latest “Genealogy” update, supposedly in celebration of The Sims 15 year anniversary as a franchise. Here’s Maxis’ heavenly words to inform us of the new update.
Genealogy is essential for legacy and family players to fully appreciate the scope of their games. For all those players who lovingly document every generation of their Sims, print out their family trees, and keep tracking of the complex relationships that develop, Genealogy is an incredibly valuable tool.
Now, with this feature, you’ll be able to look at your Sim’s family history, including brothers and sisters, mothers, fathers, grandparents (and some greats, and great greats, etc.), step relationships (like Step-Parent), half relationships (like Half-Sibling), and of course, Spouses. After you download the most recent The Sims 4 update, you can find this in Live Mode by opening the Simology Panel (or hit the Y key).
Hurray! As explained, this new feature might lure players back to the game, or convince them to buy it now that it has been over half a year since release. Many players in the Sims series enjoy the quirky stories they told, and the lack of a genealogy was a big heartbreak for many. This made Legacy playthroughs of the game less personal and meaningful, and all the complexities of Sims relationships were lost, considered simply unimportant. The feature is also for those who love building complex family trees all Game of Thrones style, pairing OTPs together into ideal relationships and watching how their lineages rise and fall.
That being said, one has to wonder whether yet another free update will be enough to convince old and new players alike to board the ship that is The Sims 4. Genealogy is yet another feature on the tremendous laundry list of features accused as missing by players in the release of Sims 4, features which were general and commonplace in past iterations of the franchise. For some, griping about pool and family trees may seem petty, but for a game that bases its entire interaction and game mechanics about sandbox, free-form, do what you want gameplay, having your options inherently limited sucks.
This was especially frustrating if the feature is largely simple and did not really need a whole lot of evolution to be ported over. Genealogy was a particular stickler, as genealogical mechanics had been in place for not only the entirety of The Sims 2, but also the entirety of The Sims 3. For myself, the the loss of family trees in The Sims 4 was a pretty big deal-breaker. Seeing where my family came from and where they were going, with all the relatives on the fringes of the list, contextualized my experience with all the little Sims. This and the lack of open-world elements in The Sims 4 – which still don’t exist – have continued keeping me away from the game.
Is this enough? You tell us. Do you have any interest in hopping in to The Sims 4 with the inclusion of this new genealogy, or are you still playing old editions of The Sims 3 with all the expansions?
The Sims 4, the latest in EA's life simulation game, has only been out or three weeks and there are already a ton of different mods to change up the game. While most of the mods that are found on modthesims.info mainly focus on new clothing options, some of them are incredibly hilarious, or just downright useful. Here's a short list of the nine most helpful mods (well, eight mods and a mod manager) to help you get started creating the game you truly want to play.
A quick warning about mods for The Sims 4, and any other game, READ THE MOD DOCUMENTATION AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE INSTALLING ANY MOD. This should save you from a few headaches as you wonder why a mod doesn't seem working or even crashes your game. If you do make a fatal mistake and The Sims 4 just isn't running the same, simply uninstall all game files, and re-install them back to the base game with no mods at all. You'll be back to square one, but you at least have a working game again.
The Sims 4 Mod Manager
While this isn't a mod for The Sims 4, this guy will help you keep all of your other mods sorted out. The mod manager keeps all of the mods you download in a separate folder, and with the click of a checkbox, activates whichever mods you wish. No having to dive through game folders, no having to replace files that may or may not cause permanent damage, the mod manager takes a great deal of hassle out of experimenting with changing gameplay.
Graphics Tweaks
While not as extensive as say, the mods for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, there are a few graphical tweaks that can be made in The Sims 4. The first one helps improve the lighting, both indoors and outdoors. From the mod's description: 'This mod improves the lighting primarily indoors, and alters outdoor lighting a bit also. Indoors will be brighter than the default overall and Ambient light is spread throughout so walls will not be as dark and sims facing away from the light source will not be as dark. Sunlight entering through windows is greater than the default. Also the SS Ambient Occlusion is increased such that objects everywhere have a little more contrast and/or depth; the washed-out look of the entire game graphics is reduced a bit.' Basically, the lighting should appear more natural.
Do you get annoyed that your Sim cannot wistfully stare off into the distance? Well, now they can! By using this mod, the draw distance for The Sims 4 is greatly increased, reducing the blur found on the edges of locations. So for all you philosophizers out there, put on your thinking caps.
Helpful Mods For The Home
While it's fun to plot your Sim from low-level pencil pusher all the way up to corporate CEO, some of the more mundane household tasks can be a little dull. This first mod helps greatly reduces the chance that an object in your house will break. At default, The Sims 4 features a 67% chance that an object will break, which is really high. By using this mod, the percent chance of breakage can be set at either 5%, 15%, or 30%. This lets your Sim spend less time tinkering away at the bathroom sink, and more time exploring more gainful pursuits like art or relationship building.
This second mod is actually just a new item that has been created for The Sims 4. Labeled as the 'Super Hamper,' this new clothes bin will automatically collect all of the piles of dirty clothes thrown on the floor, saving you time and making your Sim happier.
Call Your Family To Dinner
This mod is pretty extensive, and offers a wide variety of options. By clicking on any group meal that has been created, a new command called 'Call to Meal' will be available. When selected, players can manually select who will come eat from a list of those in the area. Once the dining guests are selected, the sim who you commanded to perform the 'Call to Meal' action will then dish up one serving of food for each person. The Sims who have been summoned will sit down at a place setting and start to eat.
Changing Your Sims
The last three mods on the list all work to change features about your already-created Sims family. The first one allows you to modify both the names of Sims as well as their genders. This works for both the Sims you control and have created as well as on neighbors. Make sure you read the description on this mod especially, as there are a few warnings about stability. According to the mod's creator, there shouldn't be an issue with using this mod, but full testing hasn't been done yet. Proceed with caution.
So we can change any Sim's name and gender, what else is there? Age! Want to watch your kid grow up right in front of your eyes? Simply turn on this mod, and watch little Timmy shoot through puberty and start preferring being called 'Timothy' like an adult. Do your virtual neighbors have a baby that just won't shut up? Easily make that child a young adult and get him or her shipped off to college. That takes care of THAT noise problem!
For the last mod on this list, it is now possible to change how long our Sim's pregnancy can last for. There are four different versions of this mod, with each one changing the length of the pregnancy to different time increments. Pregnancies can now last for either 1 day, 9 days, 18 days, and 30 days, depending on which version of the mod is installed. Even better, this mod will work with the Babies For Everyone mod that allows any Sim to become pregnant.
So there you have it. Nine different mods for The Sims 4 that should both improve gameplay, and make your life a little easier. Seeing as how The Sims 4 hasn't even been out for a full month yet, expect to see more helpful and time-saving mods added in the future. Do you think you'll be using any of these additions? Is there something you would like to see modded that hasn't been yet? Let us know in the comments section below.
